Our dear colleague, partner, and friend Tanner Yeates passed away suddenly on December 4, 2024.
Since joining HCVT in 2018, Tanner was instrumental in launching our Phoenix office. A mentor and friend to many, his leadership and expertise left a lasting impact on our firm and all who had the privilege of working with him. Tanner will be deeply missed.

Tanner Yeates focuses his practice on tax consulting, compliance, and structuring services, specializing in taxpayers organized as pass-through entities in the private equity and real estate sectors. His primary focus includes partnership tax consulting, addressing subchapter K issues such as partner basis adjustments, 704(c) allocations, waterfall calculations, and other multi-tiered partnership tax matters. He has experience with publicly traded partnerships, computing allocations for hundreds of partners.
Tanner has extensive experience in corporate tax matters, including stock issuance, convertible debt conversions, corporate mergers and acquisitions, and net operating losses. He also serves as a trusted tax advisor to high-net-worth individuals and owners of closely-held companies.
