Jamie Barry, International Tax Partner, Irvine, CA
Jamie Barry joined HCVT in 2010, specializing in international tax consulting and compliance for private equity, real estate, technology, and high-net-worth individuals. She brings extensive experience with inbound and outbound international tax issues, including subpart F, GILTI, foreign tax credits, and tax treaty analysis. Jamie also provides tax compliance services for domestic and foreign clients, with expertise in foreign filings and U.S. withholding requirements for non-U.S. investors. “Jamie was one of our first three staff dedicated to the international tax practice since its origin,” shared International Tax Partner Michele Carter. “I’m excited to see Jamie further grow into a trusted client advisor and leader on our team. She is actively involved with managing and mentoring our teammates in Armenia and there is a lot of potential for growth with that team.”
Jane Chang, International Tax Partner, Irvine, CA
Jane Chang has been with HCVT since 2012, specializing in international tax consulting and compliance for individuals, corporations, and partnerships. She works with high-net-worth individuals, closely held businesses, and private equity clients. Jane is experienced in matters such as subpart F, GILTI, foreign tax credits, tax treaty analysis, PFIC, immigration planning, FATCA, and FBAR compliance, as well as foreign filings and U.S. withholding and reporting for non-U.S. investors. “Jane has an ability to successfully manage a large book of business and has built a strong team to support her. Kyle Fang, Tax Partner, Encino, CA
Kyle Fang has been part of HCVT since 2013, specializing in real estate and private equity taxation. He focuses on complex real estate tax partnership issues, including Section 743(b) and 734(b) basis adjustments, partnership income allocation, capital account maintenance, and waterfall arrangements. Kyle also provides tax consulting and compliance expertise to high-net-worth individuals and their related entities. “His ability to guide teams, inspire those around him, and deliver results consistently makes him a natural fit for a leadership role. John Frick, Tax Partner, Encino, CA
With over 15 years at HCVT, John Frick specializes in strategic tax consulting and compliance for closely held businesses, partnerships, high-net-worth individuals, and their related entities. He has extensive experience in the real estate industry, advising on tax complexities related to all asset classes, including residential, multi-family, commercial, and industrial properties, as well as real estate asset disposition, including IRC §1031 exchanges. John also serves clients in professional services and manufacturing, retail, and distribution. “I’ve had the privilege of mentoring John for over 15 years, and I’ve watched his growth across many areas,” Tamkin remarked. “From the moment he became a manager, it was clear he had the qualities necessary for partnership at HCVT.”
Susan Rarick, State & Local Tax (SALT) Partner, Remote
Susan Rarick brings over 20 years of expertise to HCVT, specializing in multi-state and local income tax compliance for clients in technology, life sciences, and professional services. She is experienced in addressing complex state income tax issues, including tax provisions and uncertain tax positions. Susan also advises on nexus studies, apportionment, and voluntary disclosure programs. “Susan is a highly driven SALT engagement leader who drives significant revenue for several large clients by working extremely hard and leveraging her high intellect and deep SALT technical skills,” commented Tax Partner Doug Andersen. “Susan further builds the SALT practice by mentoring and teaching our new professionals SALT technical concepts and how to manage a profitable SALT practice.”
Elisa Reyes, State & Local Tax (SALT) Partner, Long Beach, CA
Elisa Reyes brings over 15 years of experience to HCVT, specializing in state and local tax planning and compliance. She manages projects related to state tax compliance, income and franchise tax, consulting, and credits and incentives, offering clients expert guidance in navigating complex SALT issues. Since joining HCVT, Elisa has grown the SALT practice through her focus on recruiting and mentoring. “For the past 4 years, Elisa has led SALT recruiting efforts, actively working with the recruiting department to attract high quality SALT talent, which has been a major driver of the SALT practice’s growth and her personal leadership skills,” said Andersen.
