Doug joined HCVT to lead the firm's State and Local Tax Practice. Doug brings extensive Big 4 and private industry experience to the firm. Most recently, he led Deloitte's multi-state tax practice in the Pacific Northwest. In his leadership role at Deloitte, Doug advised public and private corporate clients on multi-state tax accounting, reporting, and planning. Additionally, his experience includes tax audit defense, large-scale restructuring, and state tax return review projects. He also served as the national leader for the multi-state ASC 740 competency group that developed capabilities to address complex state income tax provision reporting issues.
Doug gained deep experience in the technology industry sector while serving as Deloitte’s national technology industry sector leader for multi-state taxes and as a tax director at Expedia. Doug began his career in public accounting at Deloitte. He is a Certified Public Accountant and holds a bachelor's in accounting and a master's in taxation from Brigham Young University.
