Curt specializes in the area of international taxation for both private and public clients, focusing on a variety of international tax issues that affect individuals, corporations and partnerships. He has extensive experience in advising private equity clients on fund and investment tax structuring as well as experience in advising on investments situated in various countries in Asia, Europe, Canada and Mexico. Curt also has extensive experience in planning and structuring acquisitions and dispositions of real estate investments made by domestic and foreign investors. He is very knowledgeable in a variety of international tax planning and compliance issues, including foreign tax credits, subpart F and PFIC planning, tax treaty and analysis and foreign currency calculations.
Curt joined HCVT in February 2006 and leads the Firm’s international tax practice. Prior to joining HCVT, Curt was a member of KPMG’s International Corporate Services group where he advised private equity, corporate and privately held companies on international tax matters and structuring.
Curt is a Certified Public Accountant in the State of California and a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants. He earned a master’s degree in professional accounting at the University of Washington and a bachelor’s degree in accounting from Michigan State University.
