Tax

As a tax partner at HCVT, Andy provides tax compliance services for his clients in multiple industries and provides strategic merger, acquisition, disposition and restructuring advice as the tax leader of HCVT’s Merger and Acquisition Services group. Andy joined HCVT in January 2006 and helped found HCVT’s Merger and Acquisition Services group.

Before joining HCVT, Andy spent over nine years with Deloitte & Touche LLP. He started his career in the Los Angeles office of Deloitte and advised clients with their tax compliance and FAS 109 needs. While at Deloitte, Andy served in the Mergers and Acquisition (M & A) Services group where he advised private equity and strategic clients on tax structuring and diligence. Andy also spent three years in the Washington National Tax Office of Deloitte specializing in corporate taxation and tax strategies. Selected M & A projects range from national fitness centers and large restaurant and hotel chains to catalogue/mail order companies, sporting websites, large software providers and health care companies.

Andy serves as an adjunct professor in the Master of Science in Taxation program at California State University, Northridge. Additionally, Andy was a presenter at University of Southern California’s 2008 and 2010 Tax Institute on issues for start-up businesses and issues related to buying/selling privately held businesses. Andy has testified as an expert witness on tax issues related to asset dispositions, tax accounting methods and other matters.

Andy graduated Cum Laude from Pepperdine University with an undergraduate degree in accounting and from the University of Denver with a master’s degree in taxation.
